Exhibtion 25-26

Rosie Ward has an interest in a career in fashion. Her work is a mix between editorial and commercial photography allowing her to explore fashion photography from multiple creative angles. She has leaned more towards the creative direction by styling and directing models. Most recently, she has been working with @flamingmothvintage from Sparks Bristol to create promotion photos for her business.

Kit Form 2025

  Fabrics of Memories

I created these images to promote the Flaming Moths dresses sourced by Lydia. This project explores how photography can present fashion in a more thoughtful and artistic way, rather than through a purely commercial approach, while still creating promotional imagery that is useful for Lydia’s business.

Using black and white photography, I focused on texture, shape, and silhouette to emphasise the craftsmanship and individuality of the garments. As these dresses carry a strong sense of history, I wanted to emphasise their character and beauty. The monochrome imagery removes distraction from colour, allowing greater attention to detail, fabric, and form.

The models featured in the images were not professionals and had little to no previous modelling experience. Some were friends of mine, while others were customers from Flaming Moth Shop, helping to create a more natural and authentic representation of the clothing.
